January 21, 2016

Endangered Scholars Worldwide condemns the terrorist attack by armed militants at Bacha Khan University in the city of Charsadda, Pakistan, which killed at least 20 people and wounded many more.

Endangered Scholars Worldwide calls on appropriate Pakistani authorities to bring perpetrators of this "coward" attack to justice.

The right to education for all must be firmly protected. Schools and educational facilities must be respected as safe and secure spaces all around the world

The ongoing and increasing severity terror attacks against university students and faculty in Pakistan have added to grave concerns about the ability of scholars and intellectuals and students to work safely in educational settings.

The targeting of scholars and professors in the ongoing unrest is particularly distressing, and it harms the entire educational community by undermining the university's ability to meet its educational, research, and social responsibilities.
