    On August 29, 2018 Endangered Scholars Worldwide learned that Gokarakonda Naga Saibaba, professor and human rights defender, has been denied medical treatment for the second time in the recent months of his detention. Gokarakonda Naga Saibaba, 51, is serving a life sentence at the Nagpur Central Jail for his alleged links to Mao. Saibaba was accused of attempting to overthrow the government, but in reality his arrest and sentence were related to his peaceful human rights and

    On January 23, 2017, around 30 people went to the house of Indian sociologist and human rights defender Bela Bhatia in Pandripani Village, which lies in the Bastar District of Chhattisgarh in Central India.     Delhi Sociologist Faces Charges

    Delhi University professor and rights activist Nandini Sundar and ten others have been summoned for murder charges in the insurgency-hit Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. Armed Maoists killed Shamnath Baghel late Friday at his home in Nama village in the Tongpal area.
